George's Story

Please tell us about your journey to StayWell, what led you to us, where does your story begin?

"I had to travel to Toronto for surgery, and was recommended to stay at the PM Lodge. However, this was during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the lodge was closed at the time. Thankfully, I was referred to StayWell for accommodations, which provided me with a safe and comfortable place to stay during my treatment.”

Where did you have to relocate from? How was the journey from home to Toronto?

"I traveled from North Bay to Toronto by car, which took about five hours. Fortunately, the journey itself was smooth, without any issues along the way."

What were the things you found difficult? How did StayWell help?

"The biggest challenge I faced was finding suitable and affordable accommodations during my stay in Toronto. Thankfully, StayWell was incredibly helpful in arranging excellent accommodations for me. They ensured that I was placed in a comfortable location close to the hospital where I was receiving treatment, as well as near the subway, making it easy to get around. Their support made the process much less stressful and allowed me to focus on my health."

What were the positive aspects of your stay?

"One of the most positive aspects of my stay was the flexibility StayWell provided. On several occasions, I had appointments scheduled a few days apart, and StayWell made it easy by providing flexible accommodations between those dates. This made a huge difference in reducing stress and ensuring I had a comfortable place to stay throughout my treatment. I was truly grateful and very impressed with the service they provided."

Would you recommend StayWell to other patients in need of access to medical care in Toronto?

"Yes."
